Hi, I’m Tyler Keegan Grigsby and I’m a photographer and educator from Washington, DC.
A little more about me: My ongoing personal projects focus on documenting social justice movements, communities and urban farming in the District of Columbia. I have worked as a teaching artist with Critical Exposure and Capital Hill Arts Workshop to teach young people how they can use photography and media as tools to document their personal experiences and create the change they want to see in their communities.
I currently teach photography for 6th, 7th and 8th grade at Two Rivers Public Charter School, as well as facilitating art, mindfulness and social justice centered workshops with high school students through One Common Unity's Fly By Light program.
I believe in the power for photography to have a positive impact on communities and individuals. Everyone has a story that deserves to be heard. I specialize in community based event coverage, storytelling focused journalism projects, and providing empowering, client centered portrait photography services.Together I want to work with you to tell your story, the way you want it to be told.
My clients have included:
The National LGBTQ Task Force, HealthNet of Rock County, Split This Rock, Reach Inc., Whitman Walker Health, Little Red Bird Botanicals, Good Sense Farm, Three Part Harmony Farm, Historic Brookland Farmer's Market, National Center for Transgender Equality, Trans People of Color Coalition, HIPS, Transgender Legal Advocates of Washington, American Association of University Women, Coombs Marketing, Catalyst Con in addition to many individual artists, educators, activists and entrepreneurs.
